About the Micro Mini Goldendoodle

What "micro mini" actually means

There is no breed registry policing the word "micro", so it is worth being precise. When we say micro mini, we mean a Goldendoodle expected to finish under about 20 lbs, achieved by breeding down through Toy Poodle lines over multiple generations — not by picking the runt of a mini litter and hoping.

Be sceptical of anyone promising a specific tiny adult weight to the pound. Honest breeders quote a range, because that is what genetics gives you.

Living with a very small dog

Small dogs are more fragile than they look. A jump off the back of a sofa is a longer fall for a 12 lb dog than it sounds, and toddlers who mean no harm can still injure one. We place micro minis in homes where children are old enough to be gentle, or where adults are supervising closely.

The upside is real: they travel in-cabin, they are easy to lift into a bath or a car, and their food and boarding costs are a fraction of a standard doodle's.

All puppy FAQs

Most finish between 10 and 20 lbs. Any breeder who guarantees an exact adult weight is overselling — genetics gives you a range, and we quote you that range honestly.

Smaller doodles take more generations of careful breeding to produce, litters are smaller, and demand is high. Expect roughly $2,500–$3,500 from a health-testing breeder.

Yes — that is one of the practical advantages of the size. Our flight nanny carries puppies in-cabin nationwide, and a micro mini stays cabin-eligible for life with most airlines.

They are affectionate and gentle, but they are physically delicate. We recommend them for families whose children are old enough to handle a small dog carefully, and always with supervision.
